BlackWarGreymon wanders the woods aimlessly searching for his destiny. Meanwhile...after the devastating defeat of the last episode...we find the digidestined at school discussing their next move. It's decided....they will go to the digital world and destroy control spires.
Once in the Digital World, Gatomon remembers their location to be where her tail ring was lost. Yolei and Kari wander off from the others to search for it. Suddenly, they hear a freaked-out Ken screaming. He can feel the presence of the Dark Ocean. A nurturing Kari settles him down....she, too, remembers the Dark Ocean. Yolei is confused for she's never seen it.
Kari, Yolei, and Ken team up but find they are unable to get with the others. Yolei becomes angry when she believes she is being left out and ignored. She notices something shining on the ledge of a cliff. When she loses her balance, Kari grabs for her, but she too falls. Ken is unable to help as a vision of the Dark Ocean appears before him again.
On the ledge, Yolei begins to panic due to Hawkmon's inability to digivolve. She fears they will be trapped forever. Kari gives her a good slap to snap her out of it. No need to fear...the digimon were able to pull them to safety. Ken is embarrassed that he was unable to help.
As the trio continue to wander, Arukenimon and Mummymon notice the children have fallen into a phase warp and send Blossomon to attack. Wormmon and Hawkmon digivolve to battle after the evil digimon left a hole in the phase warp. Unfortunately, the appearance of the Dark Ocean causes Kari to cower in fear. While Stingmon is fighting, Yolei tries to calm a distraught Kari with a good slap (Ouch...again!). Amazingly the power of the two girls strengths produces.....Silphymon! Silphymon is very powerful and easily defeats Blossomon then de-evolves to Salamon and Poromon.
Together again with the others, Ken takes his leave. Yolei watches him as he walks away realizing he and Kari share many fears. Kari, however, will no longer have to face those fears alone.
