Arukenimon sits (fully clothed) in a bathtub overlooking the digital plains. She recalls her humiliating defeat by those digidestined brats! Mummymon arrives, but he is no consolation...in fact, his comments land him a whack that sends him flying. After some contemplation, the evil woman-digimon resolves to create an even more powerful digimon using 100 control spires.
Meanwhile, the digidestined and their digimon are making progress destroying control spires. Davis is up a tree overseeing the process. After a while a break is in order, and Kari and T.K. go off to get drinks for everyone. Seeing the two of them so chummy leaves Davis in a teary eyed depression until Yolei basically snaps him out of it. She needs his help. Yolei has noticed that Ken and Cody never speak to one another...soooo they dream up a plan to get the two to work together. Davis tells the two boys that Exveemon was unable to destroy a particular spire and asks them to do it. Once the spire is destroyed, Stingmon and Digmon become close but not true of Cody and Ken. Both are not fooled by Yolei's little game. The end result is Ken walking off feeling that he is not welcome in their group. Davis and Yolei are furious at Cody's attitude.
Ten minutes later, Kari and T.K. return and learn what transpired. T.K. turns to Davis saying, "We're gone ten minutes, and you cause a mutiny?" Davis replies with his idea that he should speak to them about acting their age. This sends everyone into fits of hysterical laughter....that is....until Arukenimon and Mummymon drive up. Arukenimon sadistically gloats and warns of her latest creation. Then the two drive off to watch from a distance.
Spirit Needle! The ground begins to shake as the spires merge into the latest powerful adversary.
Digi-armor energize! For the next few moments all of the digimon digivolve into their greatest levels. T.K. and Kari arrive ahead of the rest riding on Pegasusmon and Nefertimon, but with one swipe they are sent crashing to the ground. The battered digimon say they know who that is. It's Blackwargreymon, a mega digimon made from 100% pure evil.
Blackwargreymon is pummeling Exveemon, Ankylomon, and Aquilamon, and Yolei knows that Paildramon is the only one powerful enough to take on this beast. She emails Ken, but his reply is,"I don't want to mess up the dynamics of your team." Cody insists they don't need Ken, but both Davis and Yolei disagree. Against the younger boy's wishes, Yolei rides off on Aquilamon to retrieve Ken. When she meets up with Ken, he still declares he can't go until a good slap from Yolei knocks him back to his senses.
A short time later, Ken and Yolei return to the others. Immediately, Stingmon and Exveemon fusion evolve to Paildramon. Sadly, even he isn't strong enough....the desperado Blaster didn't even leave a scratch! Suddenly, Blackwargreymon's eye's begin to glow signifying impending doom. Kari screams, "Let's get out of here!" Her cries are too late and Blackwargreymon's tera destroyer attack leaves all of the digidestined and their digimon unconscious. Arukenimon is elated and instructs her latest creation to proceed with destroying the rest of the digital world, but he defiantly says,"I will take orders from no one! Why should I take orders from you when you are so weak you need me to do your fighting for you. I must find a more worthy opponent." And with that, he flies off.
Arukenimon is shocked and faints into Mummymon's arms, but quickly she sits up pondering what to do next.
