Summary/pic prepared by me (Julie) per request!
A strange shadowy figure is showing up on newly filmed footage, and the cameramen (who happen to work with Mr. Ishida) don't know what to make of it.
Meanwhile the digidestined have just returned from their latest victory over the Digimon Emperor and want to celebrate with something to eat. Yolei suggests pizza. Cody reminds everyone that the computer room will become a detention center tomorrow. T.K. remembers they couldn't go to the digital world tomorrow anyway, because he has big plans. Davis freaks when he hears those plans also involve Kari, but calms down when learning its true meaning. Seems tomorrow is the anniversary of when the digidestined defeated Myotismon four years ago.
The next day at the park, all the current digidestined meet up with Tai, Matt, Joe, Izzy, Sora, and Mimi. Aside from the Davis teasing it is a bittersweet reunion with discussions of what occurred four years ago.
Later that day Matt throws together a quick meal for himself and T.K. Just after the boys finish their very very spicy food (so spicy that T.K. feels dizzy), their exhausted father comes walking through the door. He's had a tough day at the T.V. station. Staff is quitting saying they are seeing strange things. They think the station is haunted. Seems that a dark shadow appears on every monitor in the station, but it's different every single time. To calm his nerves, Mr. Ishida takes his recorder to listen to a soothing recording of buffalos migrating. Matt exclaims, "You flipped your lid," and with that the two boys take off leaving poor dad with a plateful of seething hot food. One bite and the man screams "Call the fire department!!!!"
The next morning at the T.V. station, the shadow appears again on their footage. Not only that, the soundtrack isn't playing music, but a mangled sounding voice that seems to be saying "Gatomon". Mr. Ishida is asked to investigate.
Meanwhile, Yolei has joined Mimi and Sora for some nostalgic sightseeing. They visit the rebuilt Tokyo Tower that was demolished by a digimon years ago. At the same time Joe is taking notes hoping to get out of class soon, while Matt and T.K. visit the Mall. The brothers sadly remember the digimon that were lost and other memories.
Not far away, Izzy, Davis, and Cody are meeting with Tai and Kari (Their mom is out at a cooking with fungus class?). Izzy wants to try an experiment. He believes that the D3 digivices can be programmed to open the digiport from any computer. His theory is that the D3 is all that's needed to open the portal. Davis points his D3 at Tai's computer and....taaadaaaa....the portal opens. Before they can go through Tai's mom comes home, and the experiment has to stop. Now they must come up with a plan to keep their visits to the digital world a secret from their parents.
In the next scene, all the digidestined are together outside the T.V. station when a huge cloud darkens the sky. Lightning seems to strike the building, and all of the employees are evacuating. Gatomon senses something and runs into the station. The ghost begins to circle above them . Papers fly about everywhere. All the digimon digivolve to the next level, but Gatomon stops them before they attempt to attack. Suddenly, the shadow forms into the figure of Wizardmon shocking everyone. He needed to tell Gatomon something. This is what he says:
"Your great enemy...you cannot beat him as you are now. You enemy is not only the digimon emperor but a much greater darkness. The darkness...it cannot be defeated with strength alone. You must return the one wrapped in darkness to his true self. Kindness will release the golden radiance. Kindness alone will not prevail, the golden radiance is also necessary. You must hurry. Gatomon, be careful.
Gatomon tearfully bids Wizardmon goodbye saying, "he came back to tell us." The newer digidestined are told how Wizardmon saved Kari's life during the battle with Myotismon. He sacrificed himself in order to save Kari and Gatomon.
What is the significance of the Golden Radiance? Find out next time on the next Digimon Digital Monsters.
