The Digimon Emperor is checking the Digital World from his laptop. He believes he can gain complete control with the new dark spirals.
Meanwhile, Tai, Matt and the others are traveling by railcar in the Digimon Emperor's direction (South). Tentomon arrives and confirms they're heading in the right direction. Then Matt asks if Tentomon could find Garurumon. Seeing this, Davis worries about fighting Metal Greymon. T.K. says that it can't be helped. To save Tai's digimon, they must fight him. The two get into a fist fight. Kari tries to break them up, but Tai says to let them fight. After all, that's how he and Matt ultimately became friends.
After traveling for a while, Cody's D-3 indicates a digi-egg is near. The railcar pulls up to the Crest of Friendship engraved on a mountainside. Below the crest and sitting in a crater is a funny looking digi-egg of friendship. One by one, the digidestined try to lift it until finally it's Davis's turn. His apprehension results in Tai and Matt practically throwing him into the crater to try. Just as he struggles to lift it, the group is attacked by Flymon. One of it's deadly stingers hurts Patamon.
Veemon armor digivolve to Flamedramon!
Hawkmon armor digivolve to Halsemon!
The newly armored digimon fight, but Flymon is still able to get a hold of Patamon. T.K. tries to pursue until who should appear? None other than the Digimon Emperor and Metalgreymon. The young Emperor tries to put a dark spiral on Patamon, but Garurumon comes to the rescue just in time. Patamon is saved! Davis notices how T.K. was willing to risk his life to save Patamon. Flamedramon gets irritated when Davis admits he isn't sure if he would do the same.
Now Ken (Digi Emperor) is angry and instructs Metalgreymon to attack. Matt and Garurumon tell Tai that they will work to get the spiral off of Metalgreymon. It's time for the others to help as well!
Armadillomon armor digivolve to Digmon.
Gatomon armor digivolve to Nefertimon.
They too join the fray, along with Halsemon. Davis, however, is still hesitant to fight Metalgreymon. The others get angry with him. Even Flamedramon de-evolves to Veemon after saying, "You don't understand about friendship".Poor Davis says he just doesn't want to hurt Metalgreymon. Then Tai interjects,"It's all about the things you have to do for friendship."
After seeing Patamon save Veemon, Davis finally realizes what's important. "Veemon, I'm your friend!!!!" he screams. Miraculously, the digi-egg of friendship goes directly to Davis.
Digi armor energize! Veemon armor digivolve to Raidramon! The storm of friendship!
Raidramon and Garurumon work together to disintegrate the dark spiral. A defeated Ken flies off on Airdramon, while Tai has a tearful reunion with Agumon. The others thank Davis, but he's at a loss for words.
Back at school, Izzy tells Tentomon to be a spy and keep an eye on the Digimon Emperor. In the meantime, the others happily tease the ever-so bumbling Davis. What new evil will the Digimon Emperor come up with next? Find out on the next Digimon: Digital Monsters!
