Wonderful summary written by "Akino Ame"...Thank you!!
Following his humiliating defeat at the hands of the DigiDestined and the revelation of his identity, Ken returns to his base, beats up on Wormmon again, and begins sulking as he goes over current events in his mind.
We flash back to a recent interview (though hard to tell if this is before or after the game with Davis), where he explains the secret to his genius. Where it's usually 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, his is 2% inspiration. The reporters get a kick out of this and never suspect the seemingly innocent schoolboy to be harboring extreme hatred of everyone in the world. It isn't until they leave him to his teacher that his behavior changes. While he dusts himself off, his teacher comments on the interview. Ken answers, "Of course. I always look good in front of the press," in that voice that means he's going to take it out on Wormmon later. He's about to leave for home when the teacher asks him for one favor: tips on how to beat the game Donkey Madness. Ken fakes a smile and gives him an autograph stating good luck with the game.
Home is the same old thing. His mother hands him his favorite food for dinner (liver, squash, and lumpy mashed potatoes), but he can't eat it. Too many things are frustrating him. He goes to the roof and looks at the city of Tamachi. To him, everyone is inferior. He can no longer handle the pressures of this world. Later that night, his parents find a note on his computer, reading "Your trivial lives will plague me no longer. My destiny awaits." He is gone.
The other DigiDestined, knowing that Ken is the Emperor, decide to confront him at home, where he is powerless. But just as they arrive at his apartment, they see police cars, and Davis wonders what kind of trouble the kid causes at home. It's there that they learn that he has run away, and they're the only ones who can figure out to where: the Digital World.
Without real life to interfere with his plans, Ken begins massive takeovers of the Digital World. White areas on the D-3s quickly become black as more and more Control Spires are erected. Worse, he decides to add to his army and puts a Dark Ring on Greymon.
The DigiDestined decide to confront him in a land of fire that T.K. remarks looks just like the setting of the movie Land of Fire. Okay... But as they fight off a squadron of Meramon, Ken brings in his unexpected secret weapon, SkullGreymon. His attempts at Dark Digivolving Greymon to MetalGreymon resulted in this instead - kind of like the Duskmon/Velgemon evolutions Cherubimon induced instead of the true ones of Loewemon and JagerLoewemon. But unlike the later villain, Ken is also in danger from SkullGreymon's uncontrollable power. He attacks the Meramon on his own side and accidentally blows up the Spire before his energy runs out and he reverts to Agumon.
T.K. and Kari are devastated to see that Agumon was the one doing all the damage, and Kari tries to run for him as Ken takes him away.
What's Tai going to say about this?
