Wonderful summary written by "Akino Ame"...Thank you!!
The Digis return from rescuing three Gotsumon from the Digimon Emperor's clutches. Sure, no problem, right? WRONG! They brought the Gotsumon with them! Now they have to figure out a place to hide them, so Cody says, "I'll just say I'm taking an extra art class and these are some of my early masterpieces," while the Gotsumon strike a few poses. Of course, Yolei quips back, "Early rejects is more like it."
T.K. decides to turn to one of the early DigiDestined for help - big bro Matt. Matt just finishes his band's hit song "Turn Around" at a concert when little bro asks him for help. His answer? "Sorry, T.K., but just because I have a rock band, it doesn't mean I can hide a band of rocks." T.K. suggests that they could be back-up singers, but Matt thinks their voices are just too gravelly - not my bad joke, people. It's in the script.
Enter a girl named June Motomiya. Remember this name, people. T.K. recognizes the last name as Davis's and asks if they're related. Well, sure they are! June's his older sister at 17! She asks both boys to sign her T-shirt, saying that "only the cute boys get to sign." T.K. tries, but "there's not a lot of room." "Of course," June answers. "I think all boys are cute." Why do I think that this will come back and smack Matt across the face like Zoe does to the 04 boys - whoa, hold on. Getting ahead of myself here.
Well, Gabumon nearly passes out in front of a TV, calling for Matt to help. Naturally, the Digis rush into action and find him so badly injured. Matt asks if he's okay, to which he answers positively. "We don't get to talk anymore," he also adds while Gatomon asks Kari why the antennae on TVs are called "rabbit ears" if cats are the ones that sleep on TVs??
Well, the Digis head up a mountain to get to the city the Digimon Emperor's controlling. T.K. makes the mistake of commenting that he and Matt met June the day before, and...well... Oh his words say it better than I can:
Davis: "Oh yeah? I bet she said I bite my toenails and spit them out all over the floor, and that I sucked my thumb until about a month ago, and that I wet the bed every Thursday - it was laundry day, so it was okay..."
Davis, Davis, Davis, thats too much information!
Well, Matt yells back at him that June did not tell them all that disgusting information, while T.K. tries to hold him back from smacking the boy silly. "He's younger than you are, Matt!" he warns. And sure enough, this is where Kari comes in:
Kari: "I can't stand it when anyone speaks badly about their brother or sister!"
Poor Davis can't handle it. "She hates me!" he screams as he falls into a pit of despair. Veemon tries to cheer him up, but to no avail. Ever notice that when something like this happens, something terrible is about to happen?
To get inside the prisons and break out the prisoners, Veemon, Patamon, Gatomon, Armadillomon, and Hawkmon get these plastic Dark Rings out of nowhere and tie up the others with rope that suddenly showed up and pretend to be escorting prisoners to their cells. Apparently, the guards are very stupid, as Patamon comments, "They didn't even notice these Rings were plastic." Gatomon warns that those were just the flunkies, and it would be harder later on, so they keep going. They get into a cell and the "controlled" Digimon turn on the guards and begin a breakout. Too easy, right? You got that right. RedVeggiemon shows up for a fight, and Matt gives Gabumon the order to digivolve. But he can't!
Veemon decides that he'll cheer up Davis by fighting RedVeggiemon himself, but the little blue guy can't stand up to someone that powerful. He keeps getting beaten up. Davis realizes what Veemon's doing and fakes a smile to show he's all right. Veemon sees it and is able to dodge the next punch, which hits a black tower nearby - called a Control Spire, by the way. Miraculously, Matt's digivice reacts, and Gabumon is able to digivolve!
"Gabumon digivolve to... Garurumon!"
Bring on the nostalgia, baby! Teamed with Flamedramon, Garurumon kicks RedVeggie's butt, and they knock out the Control Spire! The Digis say goodbye to Gabumon, and finally get the Gotsumon home, which is a relief to Yolei ("They scratched my CDs when they touched them!") and Cody ("They clogged the sink when they brushed their teeth!" Long live hygiene!) They theorize that the Control Spires are channeling the power of the Emperor's Dark Digivice and knocking out the regular digivices. And no more is said of June Motomiya.
