EPISODE 01 - ENTER FLAMEDRAMON

Wonderful summary written by "Akino Ame"...Thank you!!

Three or four years have passed since the DigiDestined saved the Digital World. Tai, though in high school, is still as obsessed with soccer as humanly possible. Matt has given up the blues and the harmonica for rock music and a bass guitar. Sora officially retired from soccer in order to try her (back)hand at tennis. Mimi moved to New York and took up a pink hair color (didn't see that one coming, did ya?). Joe, being the sensible person he is, continues to study to be a doctor--guess he got over that little fear of blood Jim mentioned, huh? Izzy, well, is Izzy: no change for him too much, except that he got rid of that weird "mortarboard" look his hair had and is now in high school as well. Kari took up photography, and T.K. got a new hat, as well as a new home in Odaiba.

Which brings us to the beginning to the story...
T.K. is walking out of his new apartment when he runs into two kids from the building: the brainy, purple-haired Yolei Inoue, and the calm, sensible Cody Hida. They decide to walk together to school, as it only takes 12.8 minutes (and that's if there's no wind) according to Yolei.

Meanwhile, an elaborately dressed twelve-year-old boy is running amok in the Digital World, sending out weird rings to the Digimon (no, not the kind with diamonds) and snapping his whip around. Patamon hides for cover in a tree, wondering if Biyomon and Tentomon will be okay, while Agumon falls to the ground, calling out for Tai. Who manages to pick up the distress signal on his digivice. Tai apparently skips school in order to go to the Digital World (lucky him), unaware of what's about to happen.

T.K. strays away from Yolei and Cody, finding interest in a soccer game. There he encounters Davis Motomiya, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Tai-goggles and all! Davis doesn't think much of it, until he walks into first period and runs into Kari. He comments on what luck he has to be in her class, while she comments that she isn't sure it's luck. Davis begins to tell Kari about the kid he met, only to be interrupted by their teacher, Mr. Hamazaki, introducing a new student. And wouldn't you know it? It was T.K.! And he's seated next to Kari, which is just so perfect for an already confused Davis. While T.K. and Kari reminisce about the good ol' days, jealousy builds up in Davis. But that's only the beginning of their problems.

Tai finds out that Agumon isn't able to digivolve, which really puts a damper on things. Finally, Tai sends a message to the other DigiDestined for help. They, Patamon, and Gatomon take refuge in a cave, where Tai finds a strange-looking digiegg with the Crest of Courage on it. Knowing he needs to fight this new enemy, he tries to lift it, only succeeding in releasing three glowing objects into the sky, streaking by like fireflies.

While Davis confronts T.K. and Kari as they retrieve their shoes, Yolei runs in with an e-mail from someone named Tai Kamiya. Kari realizes that her brother's in danger, and so runs to the computer lab, followed by T.K., and a very confused Yolei, and a very angry Davis. On the way, they run into Izzy, and he helps them set up the digital gates in the lab. Yolei wonders what the Digital World is and asks if she can go too, only for Cody to remind her that she promised to fix his computer. They leave Davis, T.K., Kari, and Izzy to figure out an answer to saving Tai. It turns out Davis is on Tai's soccer team, and the senior gogglehead told him all about the Digital World. Davis demands to be allowed to help Tai, but the three Digis insist it's impossible without a digivice. Well, they should have kept their mouths shut because a blue digivice flew right out and nearly knocked Davis over. Two more streaks of colored light (red and yellow) flew out into the hall and hit Yolei and Cody respectively. Deciding enough was enough, Kari, T.K., and Davis went through the digiport. Izzy was about to when Yolei stopped him with the revelation of the new DigiDestined.

To make a long story short, the three younger Digis ran into Tai and their Digimon, after a mishap involving Davis, a soda machine, and a squad of Numemon. Kari noticed Gatomon's tail ring was missing, and the weakened Champion explained how a kid called the Digimon Emperor took control of Digimon with his Dark Rings, and she lost her tail ring in the chaos. They go to the digiegg with the Crest of Courage only to find out that Davis is the only one that can lift it. Those orange fireflies were the digivices! Underneath the digiegg is Veemon, a hyper little blue dragon who is supposedly lucky. He explains that he was trapped under the digiegg until Davis could come by and lift it. Of course, the Emperor takes this as his cue to attack, and sends Monochromon out.

In a narrow escape from impending doom, Kari twists her ankle and Davis breaks his goggles. Veemon tries to convince the new Digi to use his courage to open the digiegg so he can fight, but it isn't until Kari's life is in danger that Davis does.
"Digi-armor energize!"
"Veemon armor digivolve to... Flamedramon, the Fire of Courage!"

Oh, yeah! Flamedramon comes in, kicks some digi-butt with his Fire Rocket, and breaks the Dark Ring. The Monochromon doesn't remember a thing about attacking them (kind of like everyone with Devimon's Black Gears) and Kari's ankle is all better! Veemon and Davis say goodbye for now, and the Digis head back home...
Only to trample Izzy, Yolei, Cody, and Mrs. Hida's homemade brownies.
