Not a whole lot to say on this episode as it served more as a bridge between "The Brothers Yin and Yang" and "End of the Line."
We have the typical redo of the evolution, just like in "Such Sweet Sorrow," and Susanoomon confronts Lucemon. A lot of banter: Lucy asks who the new guy is (didn't he hear the evolution?), Susanoomon swears that he'll stop him, the heroes get beat up and remember why they can"t lose...the whole nine yards. As Kazu would say, Susanoomon gives a good lesson in butt-kickology by smacking around Lucemon for a while. Then he uses his "Celestial Blade" attack that looks like a combination of Imperialdramon's Giga Crusher and Omnimon's Supreme Cannon done in the style of Justimon's Voltage Blade and slashes at the entire Dark Area, declaring "Koichi, you are going to love what happens next!" Lucemon is destroyed and Susanoomon uses the two D-tectors to scan his data. Two digieggs form: one of Darkness and one of Light, and the Light one goes into the sky and disintegrates, sending down sparkly golden beams to the destroyed Dark Area.
However, it is certainly not over. The Digis discover that the Dark egg is growing bigger, eventually hatching into Lucemon Satan Mode (I don't think he was named, so I'll call him this for now). Bokomon explains that Susanoomon only managed to purify the good data, and now they have to deal with a villain that is "evil incarnate." Lucemon starts breaking into the Real World, forcing the kids to go into action once more:
"Execute now Fusion Evolution! Aldhamon!"
"Execute Fusion Evolution! BeoWolfmon!"
"Execute Spirit Evolution! Beetlemon!"
"Execute Spirit Evolution! Kazemon!"
"Execute Spirit Evolution! Kumamon!"
You have no idea how long this thing takes. Bokomon, Neemon, and the former Celestial Digimon remain behind while the Digis head into the portal, each one remembering why he or she fights. For Takuya, it's his father, mother, and little brother. For Koji, it's his promise to Koichi and his promise to get the flowers for his stepmom (actually, he said that he was going to get the flowers for his real mother. First Koichi forgets Grandma, then Koji forgets stepmom, Satomi. Guess this forgetfulness runs in the family). For J.P., it's his friends. For Zoe, it's the real friends she'll make. And for Tommy, it's his big brother Yutaka mainly. We get to see the kids inside as they head for the Real World.
Well, Lucemon breaks through and starts a whole Diaboromon-like threat by entering every electronic thing in the Real World (we only see Japan, but it's assumed that this goes everywhere like the D-Reaper did). Trains go nuts, cell phones, computers, and even those big television things like Sora looked through in the movie are showing the message: "You must choose to follow me or be destroyed." But something may ruin his plans. Lucy, they're home!
The Digis break through and nearly have a panic attack as they recognize the destroyed Trailmon terminal under Shibuya station. Looking up, they realize that Lucemon is trying to break through to the surface, so they all go up after him (apparently, BeoWolfmon and Kumamon can fly now..). Unfortunately, Lucemon turns around and, in a very strange voice that I can't even begin to describe other than high-pitched and whispery, calls out "Night of Despair." The attack hits our heroes as Lucemon's weird voice reads off his threat once more.
In a very Evangelion-esque manner, the word "Destroyed" is placed on a black screen after the threat. The words "to be continued.." appear below it, and Bokomon does his narration job.
