As Takuya approaches the real world, a very strange thing happens to him. He transforms into a 1/2 human, 1/2 Digimon creature. His appearance causes quite a commotion as he tries to make his way towards home.
When he peers into the window of his home, Takuya sees himself on the very same day of his brother's birthday. Flashes of his life go through his mind. Thinking he could bring everything back to normal, Digimon-Takuya tries to keep human-Takuya from getting on that train. Unfortunately, eerie images of Duskmon keep getting in his way.
In his effort, Digimon-Takuya notices a boy who looks very similar to Koji. The mysterious boy happens to be following Koji. When the boy just misses the train Koji has entered, he goes running down the stairwell in an effort to catch it. Unfortunately, he twists his ankle in the pursuit and tumbles down the stairs onto the cold, hard terminal pavement. Unable to move, he utters Koji's name.
Both Takuyas eventually end up at the terminal where it all began. Images of Duskmon again terrorize Digimon-Takuya, but this time he gathers his courage and refuses to run away from his fears. At this point, he realizes he has a job to do and steps on the train to return to the Digital World.
