Calamaramon's appearance caused the Toucanmon to give up their Ranamon fan club. Now, what to do with the children's detectors? The devious birds decide to sell the devices on a nearby island.
The children see this, but when they attempt to swim over, they are stopped by several Gomamon. The digimon inform the children that the water is full of whirlpools, therefore, it would be extremely dangerous for swimmers. The Gomamon are upset, because they are unable to venture back to their friends. Zoe wants to help the adorable creatures, but the others are a bit reluctant. Zoe makes a very noble speech changing everyone's mind.
Working together, the children build a raft and set sail for the island. Soon they hit very rough water, and to make matters worse who should appear....Ranamon. Seems the evil warrior of water has mastered her beast spirit. Zoe evolves to Kazemon and begins to battle. When Ranamon hits Kazemon with a black rain attack, Zoe de-evolves and plummets into the sea. J.P., in tears, screams her name.
Zoe finds that she can breath underwater and is drawn to a beautiful light emitting from a clam shell. It is her beast spirit! Execute Spirit Evolution to Zephyrmon of Wind! Ranamon is jealous that Zephyrmon is beautiful...and, of course, J.P. is going gaga.
Zoe is controlling her spirit well, but Ranamon beast spirit evolves to Calamaramon and the fight becomes more difficult. Takuya and the others create a diversion by insulting Calamaramon. This allowed Zephyrmon to apply an attack that sent Calamaramon into the sea. Calamaramon is unable to retaliate when the beast spirit becomes uncontrollable and circles away.
The Gomamon are happy to return to their friends. Zoe expresses her appreciation of the others as they prepare to resume their search for the Toucanmon.
