Well, well, well... It turns out that the innocent looking Sumire is neither innocent nor helpless.
As it turns out, Sumire's father is Tanuki Shigaraki. He was a member of the Foundation led by Danzo! Tanuki was developing a weapon called Gozu Tennou with the Hashirama Cell. Before he died, Tanuki put the burden of avenging the Foundation on his young daughter by giving her the Gozu Tennou. She is the culprit collecting chakra needed for this destructive weapon.
Mitsuki informs his friend that Sumire is the ghost, but Boruto doesn't want to believe it. On top of that Mitsuki has been given orders to kill Sumire.
At about the same time, Captain Sai and his group had captured Sumire, but she uses her Gozu Tennou to unleash Nue, a huge lion-like creature, who begins wreaking havoc just outside of the Village. This gives her the opportunity to escape.
While Kakashi, Naruto, and the other shinobi work to contain the beast, Mitsuki has confronted Sumire. Boruto arrives before the two can hurt one another, but he somehow uses a new power that transports them (including Nue) into another dimension.
NOTE: Wow... great episode! So exciting. Can't wait until next week. By the way, how many of you suspected Sumire two episodes ago? I did.
