Someone is stalking the class rep, Sumire. As it turns out, it's a young man from the class next to theirs, Magire. After some prompting from ChoCho, he expresses his feelings to Sumire, but she timidly rejects him in front of Boruto and the others. He runs away humiliated.
The next day his stalking gets carried away with messages on the board and hundreds of flyers. Her schoolmates try to protect her, but a series of event results in Sumire alone on the roof with Magire.
When Boruto and the others arrive, Boruto sees the shadow (he didn't see it the day before) and knows that the boy is possessed. Magire uses his invisibility jutsu to attack. Unable to see him, Boruto and Shikadai have a hard time until ChoCho steps in to reason with him. Her words reach him and the shadow disappears. He apologizes but suddenly collapses. His chakra has been drained.
Unbeknownst to Boruto, his father is investigating. In addition, Mitsuki is secretly investigating as well.
