Continuing from where we left off....

After battling Ichigo, Kusaka finds Toshiro, and with the Reiatsu from the King's Seal(Ouin), takes him on top of Soukyoku Hill. He wants Toshiro to use his zanpakuto to break the seal and release it's power. Toshiro is not willing to do this.

Just about all members of the Soul Society have arrived. Ichigo and the recovering Captain Shunsui show up and defend Toshiro. (Of course, there's a lot of that sappy, "Don't do things alone...we're here for you" bla..bla..bla.) With everyone watching, Kusaka breaks the seal himself and transforms into a mighty ice-like beast.

Always salivating for a good fight, Captain Kenpachi jumps right in. Does he get him??? Nope!

With his squad and everyone's backing, Toshiro again wears his Captain's robe. He, along with the Soul Society and Ichigo, begin to battle the transformed Kusaka and a magnitude of attacking hollows.

With everyone working together, they are able to bring Kusaka back to his orginal form.

Kusaka and Toshiro have one final showdown in which Toshiro prevails... proving that he is the one worthy of the Hyorinmaru. Toshiro utters his final goodbyes as Kusaka disappears.
