Chapter 4: Surprise Visit
______________________________________________________________________________
The next day, after breakfast, they all headed for the park. Terra was back in her usual clothes, her hair was in braids and her glasses we’re back on.
When they got to the park, there were dozens of other bladers and even more blading dishes. The dishes were all different sizes and different environments.
“Hey look!” said Max suddenly, “It’s the All starz! Hey mom!” He ran over to say hi. They also found the majestics and the white tigers. They we’re the only ones that they knew, out of the tones of other teams, who where invited to the tournament.
While Terra and Kenny watched, the rest of the team picked a large dish and started practicing.
“No way I could loose at the tournament,” said Tyson full of himself.
“Oh yeah?” smirked Kai knocking his blade out of the dish.
“Hey!” whined Tyson as he caught his blade. “I wasn’t ready for that! That wasn’t fair!!” he said.
“Don’t worry Tyson,” said Kenny, “your still the world champion.” This was the only way to keep Tyson from freaking out.
“I know.” Said Tyson full of himself. Again.
Terra laughed and everyone else facefaulted.
“Wait a minute.” Said Kenny all of a sudden, “How did you get knocked out so quickly Tyson?”
“Uh… I dunno” said Tyson.
“Lets see your blade.” Said Kenny. Tyson handed over dragoon.
“Your blades gonna need a bit of touch up.” Said Kenny. “It’s pretty much useless for the moment.”
“Oh man!” said Tyson, “I guess, I’ll just have to go to the restaurant while you guys have fun practicing. Why do these things always happen to me.” He faked.
“Oh, don’t worry Tyson.” Said Kenny “You can watch instead, you can learn tones of stuff by just watching.” He said.
“Well, that didn’t work.” Thought Tyson. And he sat down disappointed.
About an hour later they all sat down for a break. It was around lunch time so, they decided to go to a little cafeteria for lunch. “When is the tournament starting?” asked Tyson.
“In about a week” replied Kenny. “That gives us a bit of time to prepare. But we need to get practicing.” He added.
“Ha ha! You guys have to and I can’t!” thought Tyson aloud by mistake.
“You’ll wish you could have when the tournament comes!” said Rai.
“Oh, I’ll try and have your blade fixed by tomorrow.” Said Kenny, just to bug Tyson.
After lunch they all went back to practicing. Then they had battles amongst themselves and Kai won. (Saphra: big surprise there!)
After a long day of practicing, their blades we’re all scratched up and in need of repair, so they walked back to the hotel and Kenny went strait to fixing them. Rai’s was the worst out of all of them; cause Kai let his dranzer at it. Terra was helping Kenny fix the beyblades.
“Let’s go to the famous buffet for dinner!” said Tyson.
“Anything to shut you up.” Said Rai. And Max, Tyson and Rai all left to go for dinner. Kai went for a walk saying he wasn’t hungry.
Kenny and Terra fixed all the beyblades, and then hung around waiting for the others to come back. After about twenty minutes of waiting, they we’re starting to wonder where they we’re.
“Tyson’s probably still on his eighths.” Joked Kenny.
Terra laughed. “I’m gonna go and see where they are.” She said, she picked up her back pack, put it on her back, and tied her dark hair back into a ponytail.
“Ok,” said Kenny, “I’m gonna do some more research on the tournament. Bye.” He said.
Terra left the hotel and started walking in the direction of the “famous buffet”. It was cold and even at 7 o clock at night; it was getting pretty dark in Egypt. Terra shivered she was wearing black sweat pants, that we’re kinda baggy, and a white shirt. She had forgotten to bring a coat. She turned a corner and she could see the buffet Tyson was talking about. It was about 2 blocks away.
“I better hurry up.” She thought, “If I don’t wanna get hypothermia.” She walked a little faster.
“Hey!” said a voice some ways behind her. She turned around. There was a dark brown haired boy with blue eyes. He was walking swiftly towards her. Terra looked closely at him, he seemed familiar.
“Who are you?” he asked getting closer.
All of a sudden Terra recognized him. She took of her glasses so he would recognize her.
He stared at her. “Kiara?” he asked.
“That’s me.” She said coldly. She turned around and continued walking towards the buffet.
Suddenly she felt a cold hand on her wrist. She whirled around.
“Wait,” said the boy, “You owe me a battle.”
“I don’t owe you anything!” she said furiously, she pulled her hand away from him and turned around again.
“Unless you want people to know your back.” He yelled to her retreating back. She stopped and turned around.
“You wouldn’t, you don’t have the guts!” She said.
“Believe me, I would.” He sneered. And Terra believed him, recalling old times.
“Fine,” said Terra after a pause, she put her glasses in her bag, “but you have to shut up and leave me alone after this.”
“Fine.” Said the boy with a smirk. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue and red beyblade.
Meanwhile, Kenny was looking for info on the tournament.
“So Kenny,” said Dizzy, “How long until the tournament?”
“About a week.” Answered Kenny. “I have to keep these blades in perfect condition until then.”
“That’s where I come in.” said Dizzy.
“Ok Dizzy, can you find a list of all other teams competing in the tournament?” said Kenny.
“I can try.” Answered Dizzy. A minute later, there was a list of all the teams and the members of the teams.
“Wow,” said Kenny, “There’s a tone of teams that I’ve never even heard of before. Wait a minute, they don’t list the members of this team. They only say the name.” He added. “Can you search for info on the Nile Fighters Dizzy?”
“I’m on it.” Answered Dizzy… “There’s nothing about the Nile Fighters.” Said Dizzy, “Maybe their a new team.”
“That’s weird.” Said Kenny, “There’s info on every team except theirs.”
Tyson was already on his sixths at the buffet. And the rest of the team we’re all sitting around waiting for him to finish.
“How much longer do we have to wait?” asked Rai.
“I wouldn’t hold your breath.” Said Max.
“Hey, this is a high class buffet!” said Tyson through a mouthful of food “What do you expect?”
Terra pulled a black and silver blade out of her own pocket.
“Not here.” She said. She turned down a street and soon found herself in the exact same dark street as before. The boy followed her.
“Ready?” asked the boy coldly.
“Yeah.” Answered Terra, “3.2.1… let it rip!” she yelled and they let their beyblades go. There was no dish so they had to use the hard ground, but it worked. Terra’s blade sped towards the boys and they collided. Each blade was forcing itself against thee other. Neither one was being pushed backwards. They were equally matched. Suddenly the guy’s blade spun to the side, and then came back and hit her of guard. Her blade didn’t even move. It just kept on spinning in the exact same place, as if nothing had happened. Terra’s blade moved to the side and, everything seemed to fade a little. Her blade came back towards the guy’s and when they hit there was a white flash. They both blinked and when they opened their eyes, both blades had stopped spinning.
“We tied?” said Terra in disbelief. “Wow, you’ve improved.” She said insultingly. She picked up her blade and put it in her pocket. “Now you have to leave me alone, and you can’t tell anyone!” she said.
“Too bad, somebody just saw the whole thing.” Smirked the guy, satisfied. Terra followed his gaze and her eyes met Kai’s. He was leaning against the wall in the shadows, arms crossed and a frown on his face. Terra stared at him in disbelief as the other guy walked out. “My luck.” She thought. She turned around and walked out quickly. “How could things go so wrong?” she thought to herself. She walked to the buffet slowly, reviewing the whole thing in her head. (saphra: she did put her glasses back on before she got to the buffet)
At around 9 at night, they finally all got back to the hotel. Tyson had eaten 10 courses and he was finally full.
“I’m going to bed.” Said Kenny.
“Yeah me too.” Yawned Tyson, “eating takes a lot of energy.”
“I’m gonna look around the hotel to see if I can find the All Starz.” Said Max.
Terra didn’t say anything. She seemed kinda strange at the moment. She was sitting back on the couch silently and her eyes we’re closed. She opened her eyes. “Ummm, I’ll go to bed too.” She said. They all got up and left, leaving Kai and Rai in the other room.
“What’s up with Terra?” wondered Rai to himself.
Kai didn’t say anything. He was replaying the battle in his head. It hadn’t even occurred to him that she might beyblade.
A couple days later, the bladebreakers we’re at the park again. They had been practicing everyday since they went to the buffet. They had all perfected some new moves and their bitbeasts were getting stronger.
“Care for a battle?” asked a voice. They all turned around. It was the white tigers.
“How is it a battle without competition?” laughed Tyson.
“Tyson, these are our friends!” said Kenny.
“Just kidding!” said Tyson, “but sure, we’ll battle you. Call going first!”
“That’s the exact thing Gary said.” Said Lee, “So I guess you guys are going to start.”
“Alright!” said Tyson. He advanced to the dish. “3…2…1 let it rip!!!!!!”
“Hey who are you?” asked Mariah to Terra. Terra didn’t say anything.
“That’s Terra, our new team member!” answered Max for her.
“Oh, hi!” said Mariah all sweet, “don’t worry, I know what its like to be the only girl on a team of boys.”
Terra laughed lightly. “So your part of the white tigers are you?” she asked.
“The best part.” Said Mariah. “I heard that!” said Kevin.
Just then a beyblade hit Mariah on the shoulder. It was Gary’s, he had just lost.
“Hey!” said Mariah turning around, “watch what your doing with that.” She growled.
Mariah and Terra sat down on a bench. “So what’s your bitbeast?” asked Terra.
“Mine’s Galux, a cat.” Answered Mariah proudly.
“A cat?” said Terra looking up. “That’s cool.”
“Do you have a bitbeast?” asked Mariah.
“Oh, I just do research, I don’t blade.” She answered. Kai looked at her as she said this.
“Oh that’s still cool.” Said Mariah she was starting to think she might get along with Terra.
“Mariah your up next against Max.” said Tyson. “So far the bladebreakers are winning by one to zero, all thanks to Tyson.” Said Tyson as if he was jazzman.
“I’ll change that.” Growled Mariah. And sure enough, a couple minutes later, Max’s beyblade flew out of the dish.
“And now it’s Lee, vs. Kai.” Announced Tyson seeing that Rai didn’t feel like it right now.
Terra watched the battle between Kai and Lee. They we’re both pretty good, but she could see some easy mistakes that they both made. “Kai could have finished him off by now.” She thought to herself seeing a perfect opportunity. Terra stared in awe as Lee’s bitbeast came out. (Not that she’d never seen a bitbeast before.) “Another cat?” she asked herself. “I’ll have to look into this team.”
After the battle, which Kai won, they all went back to the hotel.
When they unlocked the door they all got a surprise. There was Mr. Dickinson.
“Oh hello boys! And Terra.” He said, “I managed to get away from the BBA office and, I’ll be here for a couple days!”
“Cool!” exclaimed Tyson. “Do you know what’s weird? I was just getting hungry.”
“I knew it!” said Mr. Dickinson, “I’ve ordered pizza, it’s over there on the table.”
“Alright! Oh man, thanks Mr. Dickinson!” he said. Everyone laughed.
They all sat down on the couches.
“Ok, now I think that Terra is going to tell you a few things” He said suddenly.
“What!?” gasped Terra.
“Whadya mean?” asked Max, Tyson, Rai and Kenny all at once.
“I’ll let you answer that Terra.” Said Mr. Dickinson. “I’m going out, to the BBA office down town.” He paused, “There’s too many BBA offices in the world.” He got up and left.
Terra stared after him a look of disbelief on her face.
“Well Terra, why don’t you get started?” asked Kai with a slight smirk. The others looked at Kai oddly.
She glared at Kai but didn’t say anything. “I guess the first thing you should know,” she said, “is that my name isn’t Terra, it’s Kiara.”
That was a pretty mean place to end the chapter. Haha. Anyways you’ll hear the rest of her story in chapter five. C-yah!
