Shu is a beyblade prodigy. He can judge a launch by his opponent's arm or wrist and body position. It wasn't always that way. When Shu first got his bey, he battled Valt over and over again... losing most of the time. He began to train harder and watch his opponent's every move. Not long after, he won his first tournament against Wakiya.

Shu is very serious about his blading and even trains for hours. He has a no nonsense personality and a maturity level that is way beyond his years.

In episode 10, Shu experiences an accidental shoulder injury when he avoids a collision with a tripping Nika as he is launching. Even hurt, he smiles and worries if Nika is alright. He is a true gentleman. He's, also, a great cook.

Shu's beyblade is the red balance-type, Spriggan.
