Episode 40: Let's Take the Nationals!!

Valt meets a scientist looking blader named Naoki. He wants to experiment with Valt and the naive younger boy lets him. Seems Lui has left Valt with emotional issues. According to Wakiya, his spirit is shrinking!

The next day, the Nationals begin, which are individual competitions. Valt receives a phone call from his mother saying she is hurt, and can he come home right away. The frightened boy ran all the way home from the arena only to find that his mother is just fine. She drives him back but runs into traffic so Valt is forced to continue on foot.

Back at the Nationals, everyone is looking for Valt as his match is coming up. Wakiya even embarasses himself by delaying his own match saying he has to go to the bathroom.

Turns out that this was just a cruel experiment by Naoki, because Valt was to be his oponent. Too bad for him that Valt arrives just in time, and his fighting spirit has only intensified!
