Julie is battling Billy, and with the help of his talking Bakugan, Cycloid, he easily defeats her. She takes her defeat with honor, but can't help but be a bit envious as Billy tells her he found Cycloid in Bakugan Valley.

That evening as Julie talks to the rest of her friends via the internet (Dan, Runo, Marucho, and Alice), she hides her true feelings saying she is happy just the way she is. Truth is....she longs for a Bakugan that she can communicate with and sets out for Bakugan Valley in hopes of finding one. Instead of locating the perfect Bakugan, Julie is frightened away by Bats, scorpion and other critters that I wouldn't want to deal with! When she returns to her room Julie can't help but let out her feelings of sadness and begins to cry. Suddenly she hears a deep voice. She looks up to see where it came from. Sitting next to the toy that Billy had given her years ago is a brown (subterra) Bakugan. He introduces himself as Gorem and promises to battle by her side.

The next day Julie takes on Billy again and this time she wins with the help of Gorem. Billy congratulates her for finding her own talking Bakugan and heads home. That evening Julie proudly introduces Gorem to the rest of the Bakugan Battle Brawlers via the internet. They all congratulate her, and she kisses her special Bakugan. Gorem can't help but blush from the attention he is getting from his new friend. Ah, yes, they certainly do make the perfect match!
