He joined the Resistance after losing to Mira in a bet and then discovering the truth about the Bakugan. At that time Mira handed him Darkus Percival, who quickly became his trusted partner.

Ace is loyal to Mira to a point, but he often tries to run things. He appears to have a thing for Mira, but it can be hard to tell sometimes. One things for sure, he trusts her.
