Highlights:
The heads of the military are meeting at the Capital to dismantle the Scout Regiment. The gallows are getting erected to handle Commander Erwin. His offense "Thou shall not prioritize one's own gain over the longevity of humanity." Clause Six, Charter of Humanity. His refusal to turn over Eren brought them to this conclusion.
Commander Pixis seems like he is separating himself from the Scouts initially. King Fritz says nothing while all this is going on and simply observes when Erwin is sentenced to death. Just as Erwin stands, the doors burst open to the announcement that Wall Rose has been breached! The Colossal Titan appeared out of nowhere along with the Armored Titan, they broke through both gates of Calaneth District they are told! Currently, refugees from the East are flocking here for safety. The King's underlings order the gates to be closed.
Nile refuses to close the gates. Dhalis Zachary arrives. He sees for himself the treachery. The report was actually a false alarm. The bastards are foiled. The mastermind of the plan was Commander Pixis of the Garrison. It's a coup d'etat! The Interior Police have been successfully rounded up and the king and those acting under him were next. Nile turns to Erwin, "This is your victory. Arent you happy?" Erwin responds, "Humanity has just begun down a new path. One far more dangerous than before."
Not long after, Hange arrives at Levi's camp to show them the newspaper headlining the good news! Premier Zachary now has control over the capital and administrative district. The Scouts are free. Hange gives them a book with a possible location of Eren. An Underground Chapel - A sacred location where the royal family's power has been passed down for generations. The walls are composed of naturally luminescent ore, which is thought to have been created by some form of Titan power.
On the way there, Hange briefs Levi and the other with a little history; On the day Wall Maria was breached there was a shakeup in the Reiss family. Reiss had five children. His eldest Frieda was a down-to-earth girl. When the chaos of five years ago was going on bandits raided and set fire to the only chapel around. The whole family was massacred by the bandits. The only survivor was Rod Reiss. Afterwards, he sought out Historia. To top it off, this incident occurred just a few days before Historia's mother was killed by the Interior Police. The whole thing is very suspicious.
Inside the Underground Chapel, a shackled Eren has a vision of a women just before he awakens. Historia, dressed in white, approaches him. Meanwhile, the Scouts race to get there fearing he will be eaten. If a Titan devours a human who can turn into a Titan and gain their powers, then who did Eren devour?
